“When we acknowledge that changes, challenges, and hardships are there to deepen us, to remind us that we are allowed to have a second chance, that is what life is all about. We are made of love and compassion. Something remarkable happens when we heal and help others.”
I was not always a “Beauty Professional”. I was a Teen Mom, with no idea of what my life was supposed to look like. I had lost my parents just a few years before. Drawing the design to my life seemed out of the question.Fast forward 10 years from that moment in my life, and I was a professional working in corporate america. Programmed to “hold my breath”, I found success in my paycheck, professional growth, and my projected image. Despite all of this, I was not happy. Yes, I had made it out that dark “teen mom” place. But at what expense?
I needed a refined purpose. I wanted to feel both professionally and personally satisfied. What I loved more than anything was the creative control I felt when doing hair and makeup. I got lost in a world of love, passion, creation and vision.
I dabbled in the business. I began going to school part time. If someone told me back then what 2018 would look like, I would not believe them.
Does this sound familiar?
Maybe not the Teen Mom part. Maybe not the parent part or even the professional part. But does the combination of this story make you feel like you have to do something to get closer to your goal of being a beauty professional?
